After his graduation in 2005, he started working with a company “Brain $ Company” has renowned Global management consulting firm. His experience provided him with vast guidance and knowledge to enter into corporate operations and strategies.
During the Brain, his little observation watered a seed of the Idea of Zomato to provide an easy and convenient food menu and restaurant reviews. Then in 2008, Deepi with his friend Pankaj Chaddah started Zomato.
Sucess Story of Zomat
The idea of Zomato was initiated when Deepinder worked with Brain and observed the convenience of food delivery in the remote area, no solution for late-night cravings, no food reviews or feedback available, and no rate for restaurants. Deepinder with his friend Pankaj Chaddah established an online platform named FoodieBay in 2008, which offers all the services including online food delivery, reviews, and menus of the restaurants. Later, this platform changed its name to Zomato in 2010.
They both started their business firstly in local IIT-Delhi and occupied big cities and collaborated with big restaurants. After the success at the National level, they launched their at Internationally such as Dubai, South Africa, and Canada.

In the observation of Deepinder as CEO, Zomato expanded beyond its scope and expectations. That online platform just started to offer food delivery as convenient for people at any time, and anywhere. However, the company now occupies the entire online system and has overtaken its opponents such as Blanket, a grocery delivery service, and Feeding India, an organization combating hunger.
During the time of pandemic COVID-19, initially Zomato faced difficulties in food delivery operations. However, Deepi resolves that issue and starts the delivery of Grocey and the implementation of contactless delivery. It was crucial not only for the company’s survival but also to expand its growth during the most challenging period.
At the very initial time, both the founders faced many challenges with funding how they implemented their idea, and the risk of success. They received their first investment from Sanjeev Bikhchandani of InfoEdge and With time all challenges were resolved and Zomato became one of the big brands at the national level as well as the International level.
Another milestone in Zomato’s success was the Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2021. After that, Zomato became a public entity attracted many more investors, and offered a huge profitable margin. It led to a rise in the findings as well as created more trust in the public.
Deepinder always looks forward to driving Zomato into innovation, and sustainability initiatives, and enhancing its visibility all over the world.
